About Kyelah C.

Ms. Kyelah began her musical education at the age of three, going on to win her first competition at the age of four and having her first solo recital at the age of 5. She studied with violinist Norma Varga, and Juilliard professor Stephen Clapp before permanently studying under the tutelage of Dr. Jee Sun Lee at Concordia Conservatory. As a violinist, she has performed in numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as studying piano performance and music history. She studied music theory and music performance extensively under Curtis Stewart, a four-time Grammy nominated violinist/composer and Juilliard faculty member. Chang’s teaching philosophy stems from the belief that teachers must adapt to the students’ individual needs and aspirations. Some students wish to learn for recreational purposes, and other students are more exam-driven with a specific goal in mind. Both goals are supported by encouragement, consistency, and communication- with both the student and the parent. She has taught students of all ages and levels- from young beginners to advanced students, and is well- versed in preparing students for certified board exams. As a teacher, she hopes to instill the love of music in all of her students and help them achieve their full potential.
