Originally from the Philadelphia area, Mr. Tal has taught at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz, Haverford College, Play on, Philly!, and the Kimmel Center’s Creative Music Program, directed by Anthony Tidd.

Mr. Tal has been a finalist for the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer’s award multiple times and was awarded the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead residency at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2014. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in music from Temple Univeristy and a Master’s in music from University of the Arts in May 2016.
